این بانوی آمریکایی که ۸ عنوان قهرمانی ویمبلدون را در کارنامه دارد در ست نخست دیدار مقابل ساسنوویچ از بلاروس آسیب دید و ادامه مسابقات را از دست داد.

این تنیسور ۳۹ ساله پیش از این عدم حضور خود را در بازی‌های المپیک توکیو اعلام کرده بود.
